In the early 1920s, Worle was still a small village, shaped by familiar places and faces, where daily life centred around just a handful of well known buildings.

One of those places was the Village Club, directly opposite Skidmores. Opened in the early years of the century, it had become a hub for gatherings and village life and a building many will still recognise today.
